Grand Rapids Crime Map does not require you to create an account or provide personal information. We collect:

• Anonymous analytics data — page views, device type, and general location (city-level) through Google Analytics to understand how people use the site.
• Anonymous tips — if you submit a tip on an incident page, we collect only the text you type. No name, email, IP address, or identifying information is stored.
• Cookies — we use cookies for theme preferences (light/dark mode) and Google Analytics.

Crime Data

All crime data displayed on this site is sourced from the Grand Rapids Police Department's public ArcGIS data portal. This data is publicly available and includes only block-level locations, not specific addresses. We do not collect, store, or display personally identifiable information about victims, suspects, or anyone involved in reported incidents.

Third-Party Services

• Google Analytics — for anonymous usage statistics
• Google AdSense — may display ads using cookies
• CARTO / OpenStreetMap — for map tiles

These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them.

Data Retention

We do not store personal data. Analytics data is handled by Google per their retention policies. Theme preferences are stored locally on your device.
